Italian Language Lessons at il Sasso School

During your holiday in Tuscany if you want to learn or improve your Italian, you can spend a few pleasant hours taking some language lessons at the "School of Italian Language and Culture, Il Sasso".

The school is located just a few minutes away from our farm, in a historic building on the main street of Montepulciano. It has large classrooms, a conference room and even a roof terrace for taking a break during your lessons in the summer.

Il Sasso organizes Italian language lessons throughout the year for all those who come to visit Italy from all over the world, regardless of age. They strive to put students at ease so they can pleasurably communicate in Italian, affording them both encouragement and the opportunity to improve any weaknesses.

The school was founded in Montepulciano over 30 years ago and is equipped with teachers who are well prepared and sensitive to the needs of the students. While it’s true that grammar and vocabulary are very important fundamentals when learning a language, students must also be able to practically use the language. That's why at Il Sasso, the teachers seek to incorporate communication skills through activities such as games, role-playing, problem solving, plays and readings. By creating real life situations where the students can practice communicating, like meeting at a bar, or restaurant, or post office, the student can then apply them in their daily lives.

In a small village like Montepulciano, learning is even easier because the shopkeepers are an integral part of the community and are happy to greet people, who are learning their language, listen and encourage them to communicate with each other, and even laugh together when they make particularly funny mistakes.
